White Gold Engagement Rings solve any Yellow Gold
Allergies
It is sometimes hard to imagine anyone being allergic to gold no
matter what colour the precious metal but to those people who suffer ill effects from the precious metal it's no
joke.
Diamonds don't affect anyone with physical symptoms but the mental and emotional
symptoms can often be catastrophic.
To see the detrimental affects that Diamonds can pose on a people and a nation then
look no further than Zimbabwe. The reason Zimbabwe is the home of the 'blood diamond' becomes
obvious once you start hearing about how they mine the Diamonds in that Country. The Mining is
dangerous enough but the real danger comes to the people when they are successful at finding one.
The yellow gold allergy causes rashes and a burning sensation when
the yellow gold comes into contact with the skin for any period of time. And the suffering caused to wearers simply
isn't worth the wearing. But whatever it is is in the yellow metal that affects them so badly isn't present in the
white gold.
So what is the difference between yellow gold and white gold?
Yellow gold, that is either 9 carat, 18 carat or 22 carat yellow
gold is the more common gold sold in jewellery stores in Australia.
Firstly, all pure gold is weighed in grams. Pure, unadulterated gold is a slightly
yellowish to brown colour and is too soft a metal to use for jewelery without the additives. Amulets who are a UK
based store have a colour chart here for people to see the
comparisons.
The additives to make white gold are either nickel or palladium
which are both white metals and it's probably these that may be a contributor to the allergies that are suffered by
some wearers when they wear the yellow gold. Once these additives have been added into the pure gold, then the
resulting gold is known as whatever percentage of gold is left in the resulting metal. For example, if there was 9,
14, 18, 22 parts gold to 10 parts alloy the resulting gold weight would be 9,14,18 or 22 carat gold.
